I took my vehicle to Ted Russell Ford because the air conditioning unit was blowing warm air. The service department told me the compressor had to be replaced at a cost of $1,497.00. I then took my vehicle to a private mechanic who has worked on this particular type of vehicle for 17 years. He said the compressor was fine. He flushed it out, added freon, and the air conditioning worked great. Cost: $124.00. [Posted 10/1/07]
My vehicle broke down on Pellissippi Parkway on 10/16/07. Since it was after 6PM, I had the vehicle towed to Pep Boys on Kingston Pike. They performed a diagnostics for just under $100 and told me the fuse box had blown out and caused all the wiring in the vehicle to blow out. Repairs would be over $1,200.00.
