CONTACT is a 24 hour a day listening/counseling, information/referral and crisis intervention telephone service which seeks to integrate the practice of Christian faith with the principles of crisis intervention. A ministry to our community, CONTACT is a volunteer non-profit organization supported by churches, individuals, community groups and United Way. Its services are available without charge to anyone who needs help. Heartstrings
A group of volunteers in Knoxville, Tennessee that minister to nursing homes, hospitals, church senior groups, and other places where contact with the outside world is restricted. Our group is composed primarily of traditional stringed instruments, such as guitar, fiddle, mountain dulcimer, autoharp, and hammered dulcimer. Other instruments are also used that will blend and complement the music being played. We play a mix of gospel, folk tunes, fiddle tunes, and other familiar tunes. Many of our concerts are "sing-alongs." Folks like to sing the old songs, and we try to provide plenty of songs that will bring back good memories.
