Beginning June 14th, Father’s Day weekend and every second weekend from Knoxville, NavCal is offering a round trip river cruise. These 170 mile round trips will cover the most beautiful parts of the Tennessee River. They will include a lock-through at Fort Loudon Lock with its 75 foot drop/lift, an overnight motel stay in Kingston, meals and morning/afternoon snacks except for dinner at RedBones on the River.
Be sure to bring your camera and extra batteries to record this memorable opportunity to enjoy the homes, spring flowers and birds along our winding River. Follow your trip past the 33 sites identified on the itinerary and river charts that will be provided to you. You will see Little River, Jones Bend/Blount Co Park, Louisville Point Park, Little Tennessee River, Tennessee National Golf Course plus Paint Rock and Long Island wildlife management areas. Pass under at least nine bridges, by two dams and a commercial barge fleeting area. You will also pass Louisville, Farragut, Tellico, Lenoir City and Loudon before arriving in Kingston.
Most river cruises cost as much at $565 per day but NavCal’s is under $150. TRACE 1 has a restroom, comfortable seating, sound system, cooler and you have room to walk the deck or try your hand at steering a passenger vessel. The cruise will stop at Fort London Marina before or after locking-through if you need to steady your “sea legs” a bit.
NavCal River Rides 42-foot, 19-passenger, trimaran, TRACE 1 operates from 300 Neyland Drive in Knoxville. Reservations should be made online at navcal.com.
NavCal also offers regular Civil War History cruises Friday through Sunday at 3:00 and 5:15pm.
