Catch a ride this Christmas when the Three Rivers Rambler becomes the Christmas Express at 11a.m and 2p.m. on December 2-3, 9-10., 16-17. Children of all ages will experience the magic of the classic children’s book The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg when the story is read aloud to them.
Passengers will be served Christmas cookies and refreshments. Santa Claus will board the train at the halfway point to visit passengers and give each child their own sleigh bell.
The 90 minute, 11-mile Christmas Express will depart from Volunteer Landing and make its way from downtown Knoxville and the shadows of Neyland Stadium, through several old quarries, whose marble can be seen in many famous buildings in Washington, D.C. The Rambler will travel through countryside featuring historic sites where the first settlers of the area lived, the site of the area's earliest church and the start of the navigable Tennessee River.
Admission is $22 per adult and $12 per child age 3-12. Children under 2 ride free. Admission prices include tax for your convenience. For more information about the The Polar Express please call the Three Rivers Rambler at (865) 524-9411.
