 The Howard H. Baker, Jr. United States Courthouse is a 4-story, postmodern rendition of neo-Georgian architecture structure which houses federal courtrooms and governmental offices. The building was built in 1991 at a cost of $56 million as the headquarters for Whittle Communications. By 1995, Whittle was defunct and sold the building to the federal government for only $22 million.
