Sevierville is located in Sevier County just 10 miles from Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It is surrounded by Knoxville, Dandridge, and Pigeon Forge. Sevierville serves as a connector between Knoxville and the Appalachian towns in the Smoky Mountain region.

Sevierville is the home of Dolly Parton, Dollywood Theme Park, and Dolly's Splash Country. Almost 50% of businesses in Sevierville are linked to tourism. There are more than 3,000 accommodation facilities providing lodging for approximately 40,000 visitors annually, including hotels and motels, condo rentals, and cabins.

Attractions include museums, a NASCAR themed go-kart track, underground cave tours, petting zoos and mini-golf courses. Sevierville is located in the heart of the best outlet, antique and craft shopping in the country. From designer clothes and outlet stores to mountain crafts and flea markets, shoppers find a variety of treasures in Sevierville.

Sevierville is home to a selection of excellent golf courses and is conveniently located near other top rated courses in the Great Smoky Mountains.


The City of Sevierville has one of the best Parks & Recreation Departments in the State of Tennessee. Winners of numerous awards, the Parks & Recreation staff implements programs and services for youngsters to the elderly. The department manages the Sevierville Community Center, the Sevierville Civic Center and numerous city parks.


Sevier County

Sevier County is situated close to Knoxville and is a vacation hub for family vacations.

Sevier County was formed in 1795 and named after John Sevier, governor of the state of Tennessee and one of its founding fathers. Native Americans were among the first human inhabitants of what is now Sevierville, arriving sometime around 200 A.D. and living in villages scattered throughout the area.

The county seat is Sevierville.
